This page needs Polishing!
This indicates that Challenges is classified as an unpolished page. This means that even though it has all of the useful information that has been found so far, it lacks the formatting and style to become a High-Quality page.

You can help the Ordinal Markup Wiki by polishing Challenges.

Challenges are an essential feature of the game that, when attempted, changes various aspects of the game. Challenges have a restriction, goal and reward. The restriction is a change in an aspect of the playing game, generally making it more difficult to progress. The goal is specified in OP, meaning you have to have a certain amount of OP or higher to complete a Challenge. Challenges also give rewards, mostly to buff Tier 1 Automation and Tier 2 Automation. Each Challenge can be completed up to three times, increasing the power of its reward with each successive completion.

To unlock Challenges, one must purchase the u41 Booster Upgrade for 12 Boosters. Purchasing the Challenges feature does not consume Boosters.

Challenges are required to progress - extend Incrementy, unlock Manifolds and perform a Collapse for the first time.

List of Challenges[]

Challenge 1[]

"Autoclicker costs scales a lot worse, and you gain 125x the passive OP if you have the 5x OP upgrade"

Challenge 1 is typically the first Challenge you will complete, and is the easiest out of the 8.

Changes[]

  • Autoclickers initially cost 1.000e6 OP and can only be bought once since the scaling is increased to Infinity.
  • u12 is 125x stronger in this Challenge, but this boost only applies with u32.
Challenge 1 Goals
Completion OP Goal
1 1.000e32
2 1.000e223
3 gψ(Ω) (10)

Rewards[]

Factor 1 boosts Tier 1 and Tier 2 Automation.

Challenge 2[]

"You can't buy factors, Challenge 1 multiplier is useless"

Challenge 2 is the second Challenge, being slightly more difficult than its predecessor.

Changes[]

  • You are unable to buy any Factors, but the Boost to Factors from Booster Upgrades still apply, such as u11 and u33.
  • The reward from Challenge 1 is negated.
Challenge 2 Goals

1 gψ(Ω) (10)
2 gψ(ΩΩ2+1) (10)
3 gψ(ΩΩ2+Ω2+2) (10)

Rewards[]

Factor 2 boosts Tier 1 and Tier 2 Automation.

Challenge 3[]

"The base is 5 higher, all free factors are doubled (doesn't affect challenge mults)"

Challenge 3 is the third Challenge and the first Challenge to raise the starting Base.

Changes[]

  • The starting Base is raised to 15 from 10, changing the starting Ordinal (with no booster upgrades) to H0 (15)=15.
  • u33 is essentially buffed and gives double the amount of Factors, but this does not affect Challenge Multipliers. (Does not give boost in Omega Challenge 2)

Challenge 4[]

"Factor Shifts don't reduce the base"

Challenge 4 is the fourth Challenge and the first Challenge to directly influence Factor Shifts, hard-capping the Base to 10 without Booster Upgrades.

Changes[]

Challenge 5[]

"You can do a maximum of 2 factor shifts"

Challenge 5 is the 5th Challenge and the 2nd Challenge to directly influence Factor Shifts. It is similar to Challenge 3 except even harder and has the steepest goal scaling, making it the the hardest Challenge among all.

Changes[]

  • A total of only two Factor Shifts can be performed. You need to buy booster upgrade 'The base is reduced by 4 if it's over 7'.

Challenge 6[]

"Dynamic drops by 1.00e300 per second, keep no OP on Markup, you can't buy Booster Upgrades, you can do a maximum of 1000 manual successor clicks per Markup, quadrupler is disabled"

Challenge 6 is typically a lot more challenging than its predecessors, due to its multiple significant effects it has on gameplay.

Challenge 7[]

"ALL PREVIOUS CHALLENGES AT ONCE, and Challenge 6 Completions boost OP gain from Markups"

Challenge 7 is the 1st difficult Challenge you will face. It is notable in that it combines all of the effects of its predecessors, as well as adding its own. It has one of the smallest requirement scalings of any Challenge, meaning the 1st completion of this Challenge is the hardest.

Changes[]

Challenge 7 Goals
Completion OP Goal
1 1.050e13
2 4.180e18
3 1.020e20

Rewards[]

Challenge 8[]

"There's exponentially rising decrementy dividing Tier 1 production, immediately Refund if you have any Booster Upgrades, all challenge effects are disabled, Challenge 7 completions boost OP, keep no OP on Markup, you can do a maximum of 1000 manual successor clicks per Markup, quadrupler is disabled, ordinal is capped at w^w3"

Challenge 8 is the final Challenge you will encounter before Collapse and is considered the second hardest of the 8. It is the only Challenge that can be completed more than 3 times (after getting the 1 Factor Boost Sluggish Milestone) and it always can enter Challenge 8 (usually farm Decrementy/Dark Manifolds), unlike Challenge 1-7, as they will be unavailable to enter after you reach 3 completions until Baseless Milestones is unlocked.

Rewards[]

Dynamic Factor Cap boosts Tier 1 and Tier 2 Automation. Additionally, with the 1 Factor Boost Sluggish Milestone, Dynamic Factor cap boosts Incrementy gain after 3 completions.

Challenge 9[]

"Time is 1e15x slower, you can't enter this challenge in Omega Challenges"

This is more of a filler Challenge that isn't special at all. It is unlocked after purchasing AU10 for 3.40e38 ℵω.

There is no goal, but this Challenge is useful for farming Incrementy.

Challenge Rewards[]

Below describes the formulas for calculating the power of a Challenge completion. Note that if you have not completed a Challenge, the output of these formulas will always be 1 if you haven't done SM20.

Note: in Challenge 8, all reward (include Dynamic Factor cap boost Incrementy production, which is impossible to reach without cheating) will be always 1x.

Challenges 1 - 7 Rewards[]

Challenges 1-7 give out a Multiplier to Tiers 1 and 2 Automation based on Factor , where is the Challenge number. The formula for this can be found as where represents the multiplier from the respective Factors (before Challenge 3 buff), represents the number of completions of the said Challenge and represents 1 if you have finished the 1st Challenge Completion of the said Challenge or if you have obtained the 20 Factor Boost Sluggish Milestone, or 0 otherwise.

Note: for Challenge 1 reward, if you are in Challenge 2 or 7, the boost will be always 1x.

Challenge 8 Rewards[]

Challenge 8 is different from the rest, giving a Multiplier to Tiers 1 and 2 Automation (and Incrementy after 3 completions) through Dynamic Factor Cap. The formula is stated as where represents the multiplier from Dynamic Factor to Tier 2 Automation from all sources, represents the number of Challenge 8 completions, and represents 1 if you have finished the 1st Challenge Completion of the said Challenge or 0 otherwise. Also note that Challenge 8 completions past 3 do not boost the reward.

After obtaining the 1 Factor Boost Sluggish Milestone, Challenge 8 can be completed more than 3 times, and after 3 times they will boost Incrementy gain instead. Incrementy boost formula exponent is:

min(0.5 * n,  0.25 + 0.25 * n,  0.625 + 0.125 * n, 1.0625 + 0.0625 * n, 1.53125 + 0.03125 * n) - 1 for n = Challenge 8 completions.

Trivia[]

  • It is impossible to reach an Ordinal past ψ(Ω) for all Challenges except for Challenge 2 and 9. However, you can reach an Ordinal of exactly ψ(Ω) in Challenge 1, but you cannot progress farther from here since the game limits your available Autoclickers to 1. Since Challenge 9 cannot be entered, C1+2 is required for OC1 completions.
  • In late-game, if you didn't perform a Markup and all automations are active, the longest Challenge will be Challenge 3x3 with 2 C3 completions, even if you update every 20 milliseconds with super fast Autoprestigers, it will still take over 30 seconds to complete, while other Challenge can be completed in 280ms or less (or faster with like Base doesn't decrease or limit Factor Shifts) (1 second = 1,000ms).
  • For some reason, if you are in Challenge 1 with 2 C1 completions or in Challenge 2 with no C2 completions, then Challenge Time display is cursed (It was display as (4e270/86400/Tier 1 automation speed)s (before calculated) instead of (3^27/86400/Tier 1 automation speed)s (before calculated))
  • Challenge 5 has the steepest completion requirement scalings of any Challenge, and causes C8x3 and C5x3 to be the only Challenge completions that aren't possible until post-Collapse.
  • If you divide Challenge NxX goal by Challenge Nx(X-1) goal if both of them is less than ψ(Ω), the largest one is C1x2 goal divide by C1x1 goal (1e189x or ^6.96875 higher), mostly because C1x1 goal at Base 4 but C1x2 goal at Base 3 and the smallest one is C8x2 goal divide by C8x1 (2x or ^1.02873 higher)
  • When you unlock Baseless Milestones, you can enter Challenges even with 3 of their completions, but you are not able to complete them past 3 Completions.
  • The largest Ordinal reachable in Challenge 8 is possibly ωω2ω2ω+2ω+1 (reach Base 3 and get ωω2, then click successor and maximize when possible)
  • For now, it is only impossible to reach ωω3 in Challenge 8.
  • There were several Challenges have Changed description:
    • Challenge 1:
      • First Version: Autoclicker costs scaling is a lot worse, but boost OP multiplier to passive gain
        • It was changed at unknown version, but can confirm Autoclicker doesn't boost passive OP gain
      • Second Version (from version unknown): Autoclicker costs scales a lot worse, but OP multiplier to passive gain is boosted
        • It was changed to current version at v0.32 mostly because it have another way to boost passive OP gain, and the instruction about the OP boost
    • Challenge 6:
      • First Version: Dynamic drops 1.00e20 per second, OP resets right before each Infinity
        • It was changed due to Patcail buff Challenge 6 difficulty
      • Second Version (from version 0.25): Dynamic drops 1.00e30 per second, OP resets right before each Infinity, and you can't buy Booster Upgrades
        • It was changed mostly someone suggest a better Challenge 6 description
      • Third Version (from version 0.3): Dynamic drops by 1.00e30 per second, keep no OP on Infinity, and you can't buy Booster Upgrades
        • It was changed due to Patcail buff Challenge 6 difficulty again
      • Fourth Version (from version 0.32): Dynamic drops by 1.00e300 per second, keep no OP on Infinity, you can't buy Booster Upgrades, and you can do a maximum of 1000 manual successor clicks per infinity
        • However, it was not true for dynamic decrease part, Dynamic is still decrease 1.00e30 per second, It was changed due to Infinity was renamed to Markup
      • Fifth Version (from version 0.321): Dynamic drops by 1.00e300 per second, keep no OP on Markup, you can't buy Booster Upgrades, and you can do a maximum of 1000 manual successor clicks per Markup
        • Like 4th version, it was not true for dynamic decrease part, It was changed to current version due to v0.33 introduce Quadrupler, in addition, they fixed wrong Dynamic decrease bug
    • Challenge 8:
      • First Version: There's exponentially rising decrementy dividing Tier 1 production, immediately Refund if you have any Booster Upgrades, all challenge effects are disabled, Challenge 7 completions multiply OP, keep 1.5% of OP on Infinity
        • It was changed due to Patcail buff Challenge 8 difficulty, but also making the challenge possible with just one reset
      • Second Version (from Version 0.3): There's exponentially rising decrementy dividing Tier 1 production, immediately Refund if you have any Booster Upgrades, all challenge effects are disabled, Challenge 7 completions multiply OP, keep no OP on Infinity, you can do a maximum of 1000 manual successor clicks per infinity
        • It was changed due to someone suggest a better Challenge 7/8 description (multiply -> boost)
      • Third Version (from Version 0.31): There's exponentially rising decrementy dividing Tier 1 production, immediately Refund if you have any Booster Upgrades, all challenge effects are disabled, Challenge 7 completions boost OP, keep no OP on Infinity, you can do a maximum of 1000 manual successor clicks per infinity
        • It was changed due to Infinity was renamed to Markup. But it was not always true for challenge reward part in v0.32-0.33 after SM1, even it saying "all challenge effects are disabled", the Dynamic Factor cap is still boosting Incrementy production
      • Fourth Version (from Version 0.321): There's exponentially rising decrementy dividing Tier 1 production, immediately Refund if you have any Booster Upgrades, all challenge effects are disabled, Challenge 7 completions boost OP, keep no OP on Markup, you can do a maximum of 1000 manual successor clicks per Markup
        • It was changed to due to v0.33 introduce Quadrupler
      • Fifth Version (from version 0.33): There's exponentially rising decrementy dividing Tier 1 production, immediately Refund if you have any Booster Upgrades, all challenge effects are disabled, Challenge 7 completions boost OP, keep no OP on Markup, you can do a maximum of 1000 manual successor clicks per Markup, Quadrupler is disabled
        • However, it was not true for Quadrupler part, Quadrupler is still have effect during Challenge 8 (along with Dynamic Factor cap boosting Incrementy gain in Challenge 8), It was changed to current version at v0.34 because it have ordinal cap from v0.31 but it doesn't say anything, in addition, they fixed Quadrupler in Challenge 8 bug
